  • Briar Point Beach Reopens on Saturday, July 14
Beginning Saturday, July 14, at 10am Briar Point Beach will officially open and will be fully staffed. Four consecutive results spanning the last two weeks have indicated safe levels of bacteria. The State Health Department considers water safe for swimming with bacteria counts up to 60 parts per milliliter. All recent test results have indicated bacteria levels below the State Health Department recommendation.  Please click the following link for all Laboratory Results from Briar Point Beach Sampling.

  • The playgrounds at Hunters Crossing (John Giblin Memorial Park) and Harris were removed for public safety concerns. The metal equipment was rusted and had sharp edges that stuck out which could cut a child or cause clothing to become entangled. The Parks and Recreation Department is working on a plan to rebuild the playground. The Department will update residents with further information as it becomes available. If you are interested in helping with fundraising efforts, please call or email Director Blumenthal at (401) 822-9107 /
