2021 Summer Basketball League

Registration closes on Friday, June 25, 2021. The wait list will remain open. 



Financial aid is available for 12 participants in the 2021 Summer Basketball League. While there is no deadline, scholarships are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Participants must be registered by Friday, June 18, 2021, to be drafted on a team. Anyone registered after this date will be automatically assigned to a team.

Dates: Tuesday, July 6 - Friday, August 27, 2021



Fees: $55.00 residents, $65.00 non-residents



Location: Games are held at the Paine Field basketball courts



Evaluations: Evaluations provide an opportunity for coaches to observe the players prior to selecting teams in the draft. Those unable to attend their scheduled evaluation night will be automatically drafted onto a team. Evaluations will be held at the Paine Field basketball courts on the following dates:




Girls (3-6)- Tuesday, June 22 @ 6:00 pm
Boys Lower (grades 3 - 4) - Thursday, June 24 @ 6:00 pm
Co-ed Upper (Boys 5 - 7 & Girls 7 ) - Saturday, June 26 @ 4:00 pm




Co-ed Upper (grades 8 - 11) - Saturday, June 26 @ 6:00 pm


 




Draft: The draft will occur immediately after the evaluations. Participants are not present at the draft. 

Schedules: Coaches will provide participants with schedules and t-shirts after the draft is completed.

Divisions: The 2021 Summer Basketball League divisions will be based on grade level, and is for children completing grades 3 through 11 by June 30, 2021. Participants are grouped by grade into the following divisions:

GIRLS:
Grades 3 - 6 - Mondays & Wednesdays


Co-Ed:
Boys Grades 5 - 7 & Girls Grade 7  

Boys & Girls Grades 8 - 11 - Tuesdays & Thursdays


BOYS:
Grades 3 & 4 - Tuesdays & Thursdays

Due to scheduling constraints some make-up games may need to be scheduled on some Sunday evenings. **Times are tentative**

All Star Game: An All-Star game will be held on August 29, 2021. More information to follow!

General Information
  • The division is determined by the grade your child has completed as of 6/30/2021.
  • Schedules are developed after the evaluation/draft night.
  • There is a strict four game attendance policy. Coaches and parents/guardians will be notified when a player has missed three games. Should a child be absent for four games, they will be notified that they are no longer eligible to play for the remainder of the season.
  • Should a player experience a prolonged injury or illness a doctor’s note must be submitted to the Parks and Recreation office. Only the games affected by the injury or illness will be excused. There are NO OTHER EXCEPTIONS!
  • Interested in volunteer coaching? Must be 18 years old or older. Volunteer and BCI forms must be filled out in person at the recreation office.
