JOB TITLE:   BEACH MANAGER
CLASSIFICATION: SEASONAL FULL-TIME HOURLY
SUPERVISOR:  PARKS & RECREATION DIRECTOR
Pay: Depends on Qualifications
 
POSITION   SUMMARY::
The Beach Manager is responsible for the planning, organization, staffing of beach personnel
and overall operations of the beach facility.   Overall beach operation includes, but is not limited to:  scheduling, in service training, swim lessons, and cleaning.  Maintains positive and effective communications between staff, patrons, and parents/legal guardians of swim lesson participants.  


Develop and lead staff trainings and in-services to maintain quality.
Identifies staffing requirements and conducts evaluations and performance appraisals to maintain excellence.  Required to meet all safety rules, policies and procedures and meet all standards of aquatic facility operations specified by guidelines established accreditation standards, American Red Cross and RI State.  Conducts evaluations and surveys to gauge patron satisfaction and service.
 
He/she is a full-time employee and is hired on a seasonal basis. The beach manager is responsible for perfo1ming the duties as outlined in this analysis.
 
Work is performed at a self-controlled pace, but may vary depending on the demands of the job required.
 
Beach Manager must remain constantly alert while on duty.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be able to pass a detailed background investigation and have no evidence of misuse or use of illegal substances or drugs.
  • Must have a high school diploma or E.D. with 2 years’ experience as a lifeguard.
  • Must have knowledge of running a beach operations and swim lessons (non-surf).
  • Possess current American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Preventing Disease Transmission, and AED Essentials (or willing to obtain).
  • The Beach Manager must also have the ability to enforce regulations in a courteous and polite manner and maintain a positive attitude.
 

 
ESSENTIAL  FUNCTIONS:
  • Maintain good public relations with all the children and adult patrons of the beach through a friendly and helpful attitude and neat appearance
  • Oversee the operations of the beach program and staff to ensure quality, efficiency and
  • Prevent accidents through enforcement of policies, rules, regulations and ordinances governing the conduct of persons at the
  • Enforces order and
  • Supervise and check all payroll activities related to beach
  • Assigns maintenance duties to lifeguard and concession
  • Keeps attentive lookout for accidents while on Fills out appropriate reports.

  • Must be available to work all special events, weekends and holidays unless other arrangements have been made in
